Revisiting China's Generative AI regulation

The Future of Privacy Forum (FPF) has published a follow-up article to a guest post from June 2023 examining China's Draft Measures for the Management of Generative AI Services. The latest article examines the main changes made in the final version of the Measures. 

The changes include a shift in institutional dynamics, with the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) playing a less prominent role. The applicability and scope of the Measures have also been clarified, with users, providers and government agencies now being assigned responsibilities.
