The data protection authorities (DPAs) from G7 nations met in Paris on 25-26 June as part of the French G7 presidency. Hosted by the CNIL, the high-level discussion focused on the protection of minors online, emerging technologies, the free flow of data, and law enforcement cooperation. Representatives also engaged with international networks, the OECD, and the Council of Europe to strengthen global cooperation.

Key topics addressed included the privacy implications of smart glasses, as well as the challenges posed by agentic artificial intelligence and automated decision-making.

The meeting concluded with the adoption of a general joint communiqué, a statement on privacy-preserving age verification, and a joint document outlining privacy best practices for manufacturers of connected home devices used by minors.

The next roundtable will be hosted by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in 2027.
