EU Parliament approves Data Governance Act

The European Parliament has announced its vote to approve the proposed Data Governance Act having scheduled a vote earlier in the week. The DGA gives companies and startups better access to data in order to develop new products and services. German Member of European Parliament Angelika Niebler said, "data only has value if it is aggregated, refined and used in the right way." Angelika Niebler also noted how the DGA could establish trusted data use among businesses and individuals. The proposal requires final approval from the EU Council before becoming law.
