European Commission pulls ChatGPT, Reddit and Roblox under DSA scope

The European Commission (EC) has announced that ChatGPT has been designated as a Very Large Online Search Engine (VLOSE), while Reddit and Roblox have been designated as Very Large Online Platforms (VLOPs), under the Digital Services Act (DSA).
The new classifications follow declarations by each provider confirming at least 45 million average monthly active users across the EU, meeting the statutory threshold for designation.
The three platforms now have four months, until January 2027, to implement the obligations required for VLOPs and VLOSEs.
