EU institutions sign Declaration on Digital Rights and Principles

The European Commission, the Council of the European Union, and the European Parliament have signed a Declaration on Digital Rights and Principles highlighting "the EU's commitment to a secure, safe and sustainable digital transformation." The declaration is made up of six chapters focusing on EU core values and fundamental rights, which aims to "guide policymakers and companies dealing with new technologies." In addition, the EU institutions placed specific emphasis within the declaration to promote "control about how personal data is used and with whom it is shared."
