EU Commission issues formal RFI to Meta over Consent or Pay model

The European Commission has sent a formal request for information (RFI) to Meta under the Digital Services Act (DSA). The Commission is asking Meta to provide more details concerning the company's tiered (Consent or Pay) subscription model. Specifically, Meta is being asked to clarify the measures it has taken to comply with its obligations concerning advertising practices, recommender systems, and risk assessments related to the subscription option. The RFI also covers several other topics, including terrorist content, risk management related to civic discourse and election processes, and the protection of minors.
