EU and Singapore sign digital trade agreement
07/05/2025 | European Commission
The European Union and Singapore have signed a landmark Digital Trade Agreement (DTA), reflecting a commitment on both sides to strengthen longstanding economic relations and uphold the rules-based trading order.
The DTA allows the EU and Singapore to keep pace with the fast-evolving digital economy and builds on the EU's approach for digital and data rules that put people and their rights at the centre. The DTA facilitates trusted cross-border data flows, including the protection of privacy and personal data, providing legal certainty for businesses engaged in cross-border digital trade.
The DTA will now be ratified by both the EU and Singapore.
