As EU Data Act enters into force, Google Cloud drops data transfer fees

On Thursday, 11 January, the Data Act entered into force, heralding a new era that will define the access and usage rights for non-personal data generated across all economic sectors in the EU. 

In related news, NextGov reports that Google Cloud has announced that it is to eliminate exit fees for customers who leave for competing cloud service providers.
