Amazon changes cancellation policy in Europe, ends dark patterns use

The European Commission has announced that Amazon has agreed to change its cancellation policy falling in line with EU consumer regulations. The changes mean EU and European Economic Area customers will be able to cancel Amazon Prime subscriptions in just two clicks via a prominent cancel button. EU Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders welcomed the changes, "Consumers must be able to exercise their rights without any pressure from platforms" and added, "'dark patterns' must be banned."
