Next AI Act trilogue meeting will tackle innovation provisions

On July 18th, the next trilogue between the EU Council, Parliament, and Commission will meet to discuss some of the most controversial parts of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act. One of the main topics that will be discussed is the innovation measures, where, according to EURACTIV, the co-legislators have complementary positions rather than conflicting ones. The Spanish Presidency of the EU Council of Ministers circulated an options paper on this part of the text, which was discussed by the Telecom Working Party last Wednesday. The delegations will receive a preview of the options concerning articles on regulatory sandboxes and innovation before they are presented to the Committee of Permanent Representatives as part of the revised mandate.
