MEPs to discuss proposed AI Act's high-risk classification criteria

European lawmakers are preparing to debate high-risk classification criteria for the proposed EU Artificial Intelligence Act (AI) on 1 February. The meeting's agenda outlines a compromise text by the co-rapporteurs Brando Benifei and Dragos Tudorache. Significant changes in the text make clear distinctions between actual or potential risks. Earlier compromise texts on requirements for high-risk AI systems and innovation measures are also expected to be adopted.
