Independent review board rejects EU's proposed Data Act

An independent review has rejected the European Commission's proposed Data Act after evaluating the commission's impact assessment. The Data Act outlines general conditions for consumers and businesses to access the data generated when using a product or a service while following principles of fairness, transparency and non-discrimination. The Regulatory Scrutiny Board took issues with the lack of information about the act's conditions for public entities to access data and interplay with other legislation.
