Facial recognition technology breaches GDPR

Margrethe Vestager has said she believes the use of live facial recognition technology is illegal under Article 6 of the GDPR " because you cannot get consent.” However, there are of course exemptions in relation to public safety issues. Meanwhile, Research Live reports in Scotland, its members of Parliament find no justifiable legal basis for the police to use live facial recognition technology.
