Dark patterns & targeted ads regulation key in DSA negotiations

An op-ed in Euractiv argues that if proposals to prohibit dark patterns and regulate targeted online advertising are not agreed to in final negotiations on the Digital Services Act, “the fundamental rights of European citizens will not be adequately protected.” The DSA gives the EU the chance to fix a “broken system.” “The mass data harvesting that sustains targeted advertising is a clear violation of people’s privacy.”
