EU Parliament GDPR review hearing details enforcement hurdles

European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) has held a hearing to consider aspects relating to the implementation of the EU General Data Protection Regulation. In regards to enforcement, representatives from the Spanish and Norwegian Data Protection Authorities indicated harmonisation across member states is insufficient, and DPAs lack necessary resources. The hearing also covered data subject rights and the handling of cross-border violations.
