The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) has published its 2024 EU Cybersecurity Index (EU-CSI). This tool is designed to analyze the initial Report on the State of Cybersecurity in the Union and to assess the cybersecurity posture of both the EU and its Member States. The tool "serves as basis for the quantitative and qualitative assessment of the level of maturity of cybersecurity capabilities and resources across the Union stipulated in the Article 18 of the NIS2 Directive."
In related news, a Euronews report reveals that telecom operators, trade unions and industry groups have raised concerns over the agency's independence after the European Commission proposed a revision of the Cybersecurity Act (CSA).
