EDPS responds to EU Commission GDPR enforcement consultation

The European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) has responded to the European Commission's public consultation to introduce a new law streamlining cooperation between data protection authorities (DPAs) when enforcing the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In its response, the EDPS confirmed its support of the Commission's objective and outlined several steps to improve DPA cooperation in cross-border GDPR cases. The EDPS highlighted "the need for effective and efficient cooperation is not limited to cross-border cases involving multiple national DPAs."
