EDPS publishes 2025 annual report

The European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) has published its 2025 annual report. The report addresses a period of expansion of its artificial intelligence (AI) unit and activities, 145 legislative consultations, increased scrutiny of international data transfers and large-scale IT systems in the EU institutions, and analysis of emerging technologies.

In an interview with EU Observer, current EDPS Wojciech Wiewiórowski discussed the regulator's performance over the period, highlighting a 25% increase in data protection complaints compared to the prior year.
