EDPS holds Digital Omnibus debate

The European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) Germany’s Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, and the Bavarian Data Protection Commissioner hosted a high-level debate in Brussels on 8 June.
The event concerned the European Commission's Digital Omnibus proposals. It included discussions on the need to align regulatory simplification with legal certainty, while maintaining protections under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act) in order to create a more competitive environment for digital innovation and economic growth.
