EDPS delivers its opinion on data protection for scientific research

European Data Protection Supervisor Wojciech Wiewiorówski released a preliminary opinion on data protection about scientific research. The opinion acknowledges the line between private sector and academic research is "blurrier than ever," but all research endeavours involving personal data must continue to follow the accountability principle laid out in the GDPR.
