EDPS closes European Commission Microsoft 365 investigation

The European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) has announced that it has closed its investigation into the European Commission following a "significant improvement of data protection compliance in the Commission's use of Microsoft 365." The announcement comes after the EDPS warned the Commission in March 2024 that its Microsoft 365 use breached Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 and instructed the Commission to align its Microsoft usage with compliance standards, including finding alternatives.
