Thirty-first EDPB Plenary (held remotely)

10/06/2020 | EDPB

During its 31st plenary session, the EDPB has decided to set up a TikTok taskforce, provide responses to MEPs on use of Clearview AI by law enforcement authorities, ENISA Advisory Group, and the Open Letter NOYB over the cooperation between the Supervisory Authorities.

  • Establish a taskforce to coordinate potential actions and to acquire a more comprehensive overview of TikTok’s processing and practices across the EU.
  • Adopt a letter concerning the use of Clearview AI by law enforcement authorities. The letter outlines doubts as to whether any Union or Member State law would provide a legal basis for using a service such as that Clearview AI.
  • Adopt a letter in response to an Open Letter from NOYB. The EDPB acknowledges that there are issues requiring improvement and indicates how it is working to make progress over the cooperation between the Supervisory Authorities.
  • Adopt a response to the ENISA advisory group appointing Gwendal Le Grand, Deputy Secretary-General CNIL, as its representative.
