The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) has adopted a new template for Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to streamline compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and ensure consistency across Europe. The template is designed to help organisations better structure and evidence their data protection reporting processes. A separate explainer document is provided to further assist controllers in using the template effectively.
A consultation to gather stakeholder feedback is open until 9 June. After this, data protection authorities (DPAs) will adopt the template as either their primary standard or a universal model for aligning national-specific versions.
Training Announcement: Freevacy offers a range of independent data protection qualifications from IAPP and BCS. Our certified courses are available at foundation and practitioner levels and cover multiple legal jurisdictions, data protection operations management, and the implementation of complex privacy solutions in technical environments.
