EDPB outlines DPA enforcement actions and resourcing

The EDPB has published an overview of 2021 funding for EU DPAs by member states and enforcement actions carried out by DPAs. The EDPB noted "robust supervision" is necessary and "can only exist where the supervisory authorities are appropriately equipped with staff and resources." The publication comes following a request from the European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs. Meanwhile, Politico reports how China and the US are increasing their data protection enforcement efforts, closing the gap to the EU, which may reduce its ability to dictate digital and technology policy decisions.
