UN Development Programme acknowledges ransomware attack

Hackers have stolen a significant amount of data from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) based in Copenhagen, according to a report in Cyberscoop. The data, which includes information about employees and other internal operations, was posted on a ransomware website in late March. The stolen data may include personal information such as social security numbers, bank account information, and passport details of the employees, contractors, and their families. While the UNDP has not identified the group behind the attack, the ransomware group 8Base has claimed responsibility.
