EU Council and Parliament reach provisional agreement on GDPR procedural regulation
16/06/2025 | Council of the European Union
The Council of the European Union and the European Parliament have reached a provisional agreement on the additional procedural rules concerning the enforcement of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The new harmonisation law is designed to speed up cross-border enforcement cases by introducing common rules, streamlined processes, deadlines and rights for both the complainant and the company or organisation under investigation. The agreement will need to be adopted by both the Council and the Parliament before it can enter into force.
