Study reveals data sharing practices of social media companies

YouTube and TikTok have been found to track the most personal data out of the 10 leading major social media applications. A new report looking at 200 iOS Apps from URL Genius found YouTube and TikTok topped the other apps, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, with 14 network contacts apiece before a user logs in. This compared to an average of six. Ten of YouTube’s network contacts are first party, while 13 of TikTok’s 14 network contacts were third parties.
