Apple's privacy chief regrets creating ad-tracking tool

Apple User Privacy Manager Erik Neuenschwander has said that he now regrets creating a tool that allowed the company to track users and target them with advertisements. Apple developed software-based identifiers for advertisers to replace hardware-based identification codes to be used by advertisers. However, developers found loopholes in the identifier rules to continue tracking users even if they had turned off the IDFA features.
