EU Border Force software contains thousands of cybersecurity issues

According to Bloomberg News (£), a 2024 report by the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) found that the software used by EU border forces to detect illegal immigrants and criminals, as well as collect and store biometric data, contains thousands of cybersecurity issues. Many of the issues identified in the Schengen Information System II were classified as "high" severity, and there was an "excessive number" of accounts with administrator-level access to the database.
