BBW condemns live facial recognition use at Trooping of Colour

Civil liberties and privacy campaign group Big Brother Watch has released a statement following the Metropolitan Police’s announcement on Twitter confirming that it will use live facial recognition at the Trooping the Colour ceremony over the weekend.

Big Brother Watch said, “Live facial recognition is a dangerously authoritarian mass surveillance tool, that turns innocent members of the public into walking ID cards."
