WhatsApp applies to join Apple in legal challenge against Home Office TCN

WhatsApp has submitted evidence to the Investigatory Powers Tribunal in support of Apple in the case brought by Privacy International and Liberty against the Home Office's Technical Capability Notice (TCN) that would require the iPhone maker to create a back door into its Advanced Data Protection (ADP) iCloud encryption. In a statement discussing the case, WhatsApp CEO Will Cathcart said that it could set a "dangerous precedent for security technologies that protect users around the world."
