UPDATE: Police Scotland remove 500,000 vulnerable people from database

In the three years since the Information Commissioner said there needed to be a policy for removing people, 494,039 records have now been removed from the Vulnerable Person Database (VPD).

Update: The Ferret reports that deleted police records on thousands of Scots could still held by other public bodies.
