UPDATE: MoD to investigate Afghan interpreter data breach

A Ministry of Defence investigation has been launched following a data breach involving the email addresses of over 250 Afghan interpreters that had worked for British forces that were accidentally copied into an MoD email. Conservative MP and former defence minister Johnny Mercer explained: "The reality is we've left the vast, vast majority of our interpreters behind so this is going to have a profound impact on people who are still in the country."

UPDATE: 230921 - Reuters reports the UK has suspended official for error revealing Afghan interpreter details. Meanwhile, the Independent reveals a second MoD data breach involving Afghan interpreters.
