Man arrested under CMA over cyberattack on European airports

A man has been arrested in West Sussex in connection with a cyberattack that caused flight disruption at several European airports, including Heathrow. The National Crime Agency (NCA) said the individual is in his forties and was arrested on suspicion of offences under the Computer Misuse Act (CMA) and has since been released on bail. The arrest is part of an ongoing investigation into a cyber incident at Collins Aerospace, whose baggage and check-in software failed, causing hundreds of flight delays. The EU's cybersecurity agency reported on Monday that ransomware had been deployed in the attack.
