Cyberattack at luxury brand owner Kering led to loss of personal data

Personal data of millions of customers of luxury brands, including Balenciaga and Gucci, has been stolen in a cyberattack. The hacker group Shiny Hunters claims to have data linked to 7.4 million unique email addresses. The stolen information includes names, contact details, and the total amount of money customers have spent, which could lead to high-spending customers being targeted by scams. Kering, the parent company of the affected brands, confirmed the breach but said no financial information, such as card details, was compromised. Kering also denied the hacker’s claim of being in ransom negotiations and said it has refused to pay.
