ICO warning over freedom passports, recommends expanding FOI

Speaking at a digital, culture, media and sport select committee meeting on Tuesday morning, Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham told MPs that issuing ‘freedom passports’ to people who have been vaccinated for Coronavirus would impact Human Rights, could lead to a Digital ID via the back door and would risk creating “a two-tier society”.  The Evening Standards reports that the ICO also suggested to MPs that private companies taking millions of pounds of Government cash during the pandemic should be subjected to freedom of information laws.
