Google challenges French DPA’s €100m fine

Google has filed a challenge with the French Council of State regarding the €100m fine the French DPA, the CNIL issued for alleged cookie violations. During the hearing, Google contested the CNIL's authority to issue the enforcement action via the one-stop-shop mechanism under the EU GDPR, while the DPA argued Google falls under French law as cookie policy is covered under the ePrivacy Directive.
