Under the Czech Presidency, the Council of the European Union announced final approval for the Digital Markets Act, the last step to full adoption. Ivan Bartoš, the Czech Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalization said that the DMA will hold online platforms "responsible for their actions" and "ensure fair competition online, more convenience for consumers and new opportunities for small businesses." The DMA will apply six months after it is signed by EU institutions and published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
