EU Council adopts cybersecurity strategy

The Council of the European Union has formally announced the adoption of a new cybersecurity strategy. The strategy, which addresses the next ten years, contains a framework to protect businesses and EU citizens from cyber-attacks and promote secure information systems. In its conclusions, the council highlights actions, including defining a joint cyber unit, supporting the development of strong encryption, establishing a cyber intelligence working group, and strengthening cooperation with international organizations. The council encouraged the European Commission to establish a detailed implementation plan.
